Getting Started

AOL Voicemail is an easy to use service that helps you stay connected — anytime, anywhere! With AOL® Voicemail you can get your e-mail and phone messages all in one place.

System Requirements

To use the service you need a PC that meets or exceeds the following system requirements:

You will also need the latest version of AIM. Get AIM now.

Note: If you are using AOL® 9.0 Security Edition, AOL Voicemail will work but the latest version of AIM is recommended for optimal functionality.

Note: If you want to answer calls on your PC, you need at least one of the following three kinds of equipment:

If you have a USB phone or webcam it will be your default option. To change that default you will need to change the audio control settings in Windows®.

Activating Your Service

To function, AOL Voicemail requires phone features (Call Forward Busy, Call Forward No Answer and Message Waiting Indicator) on your phone line. In some cases, AOL will place the phone feature order with your phone company on your behalf, or we may instruct you to place the order with your phone company directly. It may take 3 to 5 business days for processing, depending on your phone company. We recommend you test your service by signing on to AIM (or AOL) and then calling your registered phone number. If your "test" call doesn't result in a call alert, the phone features have not been applied to your telephone line yet. For more details, call our Provisioning Help Desk at 1-877-742-9546.
